The New York Law Journal is again asking to help us recognize the best and brightest in the legal community for this year’s edition of the New York Legal Awards.
Nominees for some of our many professional excellence categories will have their stories told both online and in a special print section. Winners will be honored on stage in September at a special event in Manhattan.
We’re looking for the lawyers, firms and litigation departments who most influence and inspire New York’s legal community.
For the 2025 edition, we’re hoping to honor an even broader swath of the industry with the addition of three new categories: the most promising newcomers, the top mentors and the biggest real estate transactions of the year.
A few notes on submissions: No more than three attorneys per category can be nominated from any one firm or organization, and references to “past year” cover the period between Jan. 1, 2024, and May 1, 2025. We encourage you to choose a category whose criteria best aligns with the attorney’s work and accomplishments.
The New York Law Journal takes a comprehensive approach to judging and we consider various factors when making decisions, including the amount or significance of the issue at stake in the work described; the impact or innovative nature of the work; diversity; practice area; and pro bono work. The New York Law Journal is committed to diversity and strongly encourages the legal community to highlight and promote their diverse attorneys when considering and preparing submissions.
THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE for all categories is May 16, 2025.
