The lawyer behind the Solana-based meme coin “Wiener Doge” saw the token’s $3.1 million market cap wiped away in minutes after a cyber heist that he alleged could have been prevented by Phantom Technologies Inc., which hosted the wallet and touted “best in class” security on its platform.
Liam Murphy, a partner at the Crypto Law Firm in New York and a former Am Law 100 firm associate, represents the plaintiffs: himself, his family and friends, including two additional lawyers. They sued the defendants, Aux Cayes Fintech Co. Ltd. and Phantom, which facilitated over $20 billion in swaps and collected over $275 million in fees in 2024 alone.
