As litigation partners have continued to exit Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, the firm is seeking to reassure current partners of the continued strength of the litigation department and is trying to push back against a narrative that powerful partners are leaving, following the firm’s March deal with President Trump.
According to sources, Paul Weiss chair Brad Karp spoke to partners in a Monday meeting attended by dozens of litigation partners, hoping to clarify what he said was a bombardment of “misinformation.” The meeting came after a new spinoff firm, founded by former Paul Weiss partners Karen Dunn and Jeannie Rhee, among others, continued to recruit attorneys from the firm.
