A California state judge has denied the post-trial motions filed by chip design software company Silvaco in its long-running earn-out dispute with an international business it acquired in 2018, Nangate Denmark ApS, bringing Nangate’s judgment against Silvaco to over $41 million.
California Superior Court Judge Charles F. Adams, who presides in Santa Clara County, last week rejected Silvaco’s motions for judgment notwithstanding verdict and a new trial, including a request for a reduction in punitive damages, after a two-hour oral argument held by Nangate’s counsel at Goodwin Procter on March 7.
