A former attorney at Girardi Keese testified on Thursday about her repeated attempts to get Tom Girardi to pay her client’s settlement.
Alexa Galloway, who was a law clerk when she started at the Los Angeles firm in 2018, told jurors that she had no idea why her client, Judy Selberg, hadn’t been paid her portion of a $504,000 settlement tied to a boating accident that killed her husband in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Galloway had left the settlement check in a bin outside the office of Girardi Keese accounting head Christopher Kamon, but Girardi was the only lawyer with authority to sign it, she said.
