‘Not a Political Motivation’

When Kent Jordan announced his plans to retire from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit last May, he broke from a growing trend in the judiciary.

Research has shown that federal judges are increasingly timing their retirement from active service for when the party that appointed them controls the White House.
