A federal judge in Missouri granted Boston College’s motion to block a Christian college in Missouri from selling a chapel on its campus grounds, as a contractual dispute over the transfer of 13 stained glass windows continues.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Henry Edward Autrey of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri granted a preliminary injunction motion brought by Boston College in a contractual dispute with Urshan University. The parties agreed to transfer stained glass windows from Urshan’s campus chapel to Boston College, but weeks later, Urshan informed the plaintiff that the deal was canceled because a third party wanted to buy the chapel—windows included. Boston College filed a lawsuit and asked the court to intervene from selling the property.
