Law School Faculty Tackle Student Mental Health

This is part II of a two-part story exploring factors contributing to mental health issues in law school and beyond, and presenting possible solutions. Read part I here.

Experts in the legal community agree that the well-being of law school students and lawyers continues to decline, and for decades, some of those same experts have been seeking solutions, with many pointing to the role that law school faculty and administrators can play in their students’ mental health.

Professors’ Influence 

The American Bar Association maintains a substance abuse and mental health “toolkit” for law students and “those who care about them,” which offers students a comprehensive guide to help students navigate mental health during law school, and further outlines the roles that pre-law advisers and law school staff at all levels play in students’ mental health.
