At Supreme Court, Trump Finds More Success Fighting Losses

The Department of Justice’s fortunes at the U.S. Supreme Court have started to turn since the early days of President Donald Trump’s second term, when the justices rebuffed his initial requests to block lower court orders.

In recent days, the Supreme Court’s conservative majority has shown its willingness to overturn some of the president’s court losses as he embarks on an aggressive immigration crackdown, slashes federal programs and fires thousands of employees across the government. The court had rebuffed the government’s first two similar requests in late February and early March.
