In a Friday order formally blocking Tony Buzbee from practicing in a case against the rap artist and businessman Sean Combs, U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil warned his co-counsel of the “grave consequences” of further misconduct, suggesting that sanctions could be on the table for her “apparent complicity” in Buzbee’s actions.
Vyskocil rejected as moot Buzbee’s application for pro hac vice admission in the case, one of the multiple cases he withdrew from after reports emerged that Buzbee—an attorney in Texas—had been filing dozens of court filings in the Manhattan federal court, without first asking for permission to do so.
