On Tuesday, the University of Miami School of Law hosted a talk with Horacio Gutierrez, an alumnus who is the senior executive vice president and chief legal officer at the Walt Disney Co.
“ AI threatens to inflict severe harm to American creators resulting from the misuse of their intellectual property rights,” Gutierrez said at the start of his speech at the Alan S. Becker and Gary A. Poliakoff Preeminent Leaders in Law Speaker Series. “ And we must act now in the fast-moving AI innovation environment. We don’t have time to repeat the mistakes of the past or even to delay in coming to grips with the challenges we face.”
