10th Circuit Hears Arguments in Transgender Woman’s Admission to Sorority

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit questioned if it had jurisdiction to consider arguments from six women attempting to reinstate their lawsuit against their sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, after approving a transgender woman to join the University of Wyoming’s chapter.

Plaintiffs Jaylyn Westenbroek, Hannah Holtmeier, Allison Coghan, Grace Choate, Madeline Ramar and Megan Kosar filed an amended complaint in April 2023, alleging that the acceptance of Artemis Langford, a transgender woman, into the women’s organization violated membership requirements and disregarded the Kappa Kappa Gamma’s history as a “single-sex organization for women.”
