\n\tA federal judge has held Tory Lanez in contempt of court on the eve of trial in a civil lawsuit filed by Megan Thee Stallion \u2013 a move that came after the singer said: \u201cI\u2019m a millionaire. I don\u2019t care.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tIn a ruling Sunday evening, the judge said that Lanez (Daystar Peterson) \u2013 currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan in 2020 \u2013 had behaved so poorly during three different depositions that he must now pay a $20,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Reid, that\u2019s an outcome Tory already shrugged off during the most recent debacle: \u201cWhen told his behavior could result in contempt of court and sanctions consisting of fines and additional jail time, Mr. Peterson then said, \u2018whatever the fines are, I\u2019ll pay them. I\u2019m a millionaire. I don\u2019t care\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe ruling came a day before the start of a jury trial in a civil lawsuit Megan filed last year against social media personality Milagro Gramz (Milagro Cooper). The star claims Gramz waged a \u201ccoordinated campaign\u201d with Lanez to \u201cdefame and delegitimize\u201d her in the wake of the shooting.<\/p>\n \n\tIn addition to the monetary fine, the judge also said that jurors in that trial should be told about Lanez\u2019s refusal to answer questions about whether he ever communicated with Gramz \u2013 an unwelcome development for her defense attorneys.<\/p>\n \n\tLanez was convicted in December 2022 on three felony counts for shooting Megan in the foot in July 2020 during an argument following a pool party at Kylie Jenner\u2019s house in the Hollywood Hills. In August 2023, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. But each time, the singer has disrupted the proceedings and refused to answer questions; Megan\u2019s lawyers have said he\u2019s \u201cmade a mockery of the proceedings.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn her ruling on Sunday, Judge Reid echoed those claims. She said Megan\u2019s lawyers had been \u201cunable to ask more than two questions before Mr. Peterson stormed out of the room.\u201d The judge said Tory later made \u201cderogatory comments\u201d and hurled \u201cmultiple expletives\u201d toward Megan\u2019s lawyers and never answered any questions.<\/p>\n \n\tLanez\u2019s attorney, Crystal Morgan, also drew the judge\u2019s ire. During the second deposition, she said he was informed that he might face added time in prison for failure to comply. \u201cMr. Peterson responded that he \u2018got jail for 10 years right now.
