After the verdict, the superstar had a warning for the filer of the next \u201cfrivolous lawsuit\u201d against her: \u201cI\u2019m going to countersue, and I\u2019m gonna make you pay because this is not okay,\u201d she said. \u201cDon\u2019t you ever think that you gonna sue me, and I\u2019m just gonna settle and just give you my money. Like in another civil case tossed out last month, the judge said the John Doe lawsuit was filed well after the statute of limitations had expired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>MELLY FIRES LAWYERS<\/strong> \u2013 Weeks after his double-murder trial was postponed until 2027, YNW Melly fired his team of lawyers \u2013 arguing that they now have a conflict of interest that makes it \u201cimpossible\u201d for them to effectively represent him. To replace them, the rapper hired Drew Findling, a well-known criminal defense attorney who previously repped Cardi B and Gucci Mane and is currently defending Lil Durk, Lil Nas X and Glorilla.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>COUNTERFEIT CRACKDOWN <\/strong>\u2013 It was a busy week for counterfeit merch lawsuits. Tate McRae\u2019s supplier filed a lawsuit seeking to empower law enforcement to stop bootleggers from selling knockoff t-shirts and other gear during her Miss Possessive tour. He was just the latest to face such claims, which have also targeted Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa and Justin Bieber and others over similar posts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>PRAS HEALTH SCARE<\/strong> \u2013 Fugees rapper Pras Michel had emergency surgery for colon cancer removal, postponing a key court hearing following his conviction on illegal foreign lobbying and conspiracy charges. Pras had been due in court to decide how much much money he must forfeit to the government, but the cancer was revealed in a routine checkup. Michel is \u201crecovering right now until he is in the clear,\u201d a spokesperson said, and the court hearing was pushed back until October.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>JOINT MOTION<\/strong> \u2013 Lawyers for Megan Thee Stallion claimed in court filings that a close ally of Tory Lanez should be punished for \u201cutterly disrespectful, uncivil and antagonistic\u201d conduct during a recent deposition. Megan\u2019s attorneys say Ceasar McDowell engaged in \u201cimmature and childlike conduct,\u201d including rolling and smoking what appeared to be a \u201cmarijuana cigarette\u201d and calling one of the attorneys a \u201cb\u2014h\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<strong>CASE CLOSED<\/strong> \u2013 A settlement was reached to end a lawsuit claiming Pitbull\u2019s 2021 dance hit \u201cI Feel Good\u201d was copied from a track created more than 15 years earlier.
