\n\tA<\/span>n ex-girlfriend of Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs \u2014 and one of the alleged victims cited by prosecutors in his indictment \u2014 is now urging a federal judge to release him from jail.<\/p>\n

\n\tVirginia Huynh, who was listed as \u201cVictim-3\u201d but never showed up at Diddy\u2019s blockbuster racketeering and sex trafficking trial, filed court documents Sunday in support of the star\u2019s recent efforts to secure release on bail until he\u2019s sentenced in October.<\/p>\n

\n\tProsecutors have argued that Diddy must remain in jail because he\u2019s dangerous and has an \u201cextensive history of violence,\u201d but Huynh said she does not \u201cview Mr. Combs as a danger to me or to the community.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI want to assure the court that if released, I believe Mr. Combs will adhere to all conditions imposed and will not jeopardize his freedom or the well-being of his family,\u201d Huynh wrote. \u201cAllowing him to be at home will also support the healing process for all involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCombs was acquitted last month on the most serious charges he faced over drug-fueled sex marathons called \u201cfreak-offs,\u201d but was convicted on two lesser prostitution counts. His lawyers are currently pushing to throw out those convictions \u2014 or at the very least get him out of jail ahead of sentencing.<\/p>\n

\n\tHuynh (who goes by \u201cGina\u201d) was supposed to be a key part of the government\u2019s case against Diddy. But days before the trial was set to start, prosecutors told the judge that they could not locate Victim-3, and she never ended up testifying before the jury.<\/p>\n

\n\tNow, Huynh is frustrating prosecutors once again. In her letter to the judge, she identified herself as Victim-3 and directly asked the judge to release the star on bond ahead of sentencing \u2014 arguing that Combs is not the dangerous criminal portrayed by the feds.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTo my knowledge, he has not been violent for many years, and he has been committed to being a father first,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\n\tHuynh, who publicly alleged in a 2019 podcast interview<\/a> that Diddy had stomped on her stomach and punched her in the head during their relationship, painted a different picture in her new letter to the judge.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOur relationship, like many, was not always perfect, we experienced ups and downs, and mistakes were made but he was willing to acknowledge his mistakes and make better decisions in the future,\u201d Huynh wrote. \u201cOver the years that followed he made visible efforts to become a better person and to address the harm he had caused. By the time our relationship ended, he embodied an energy of love, patience and gentleness that was markedly different from his past behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAllowing Diddy to be released on bail ahead of sentencing will \u201callow him to continue caring for his family and fulfilling his responsibilities while still subject to the Court\u2019s supervision,\u201d Huynh said.<\/p>\n

\n\tA spokesman for prosecutors did not immediately return a request for comment on Huynh\u2019s letter.<\/p>\n

\n\tCombs was arrested and charged last year with racketeering (RICO) and sex trafficking violations over accusations that he ran a sprawling criminal operation aimed at facilitating the freak-offs \u2014 elaborate events which he allegedly forced his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and other women to have sex with male escorts while he watched and masturbated.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut following a blockbuster trial in May and June, a jury cleared Combs on the RICO and sex trafficking charges. The mogul was found guilty on two other counts for transporting Ventura, another woman and various sex workers across state lines for the purposes of prostitution.<\/p>\n

\n\tCombs will face sentencing on those convictions in October; sentencing guidelines suggest he\u2019ll likely receive between two and five years in prison.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
