\n\tTyrese\u2019s ex-wife Samantha wants the singer thrown in jail over accusations that he still owes almost $500,000 in fees to her attorneys in their never-ending divorce case.<\/p>\n

\n\tMore than four years after the pair split, Samantha Gibson filed a lawsuit Friday (July 25) claiming the Fast & Furious<\/em> star has \u201cmade no effort whatsoever\u201d to pay a court-ordered $399,512 to the attorneys that repped her in the divorce \u2014 a figure that\u2019s now ballooned to $492,651 due to interest.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMr. Gibson has the ability to pay the court ordered attorney\u2019s fees and accrued interest and chooses to ignore the court\u2019s order, as he has ignored and violated prior orders,\u201d she writes in her complaint, later calling it a \u201cblatant disregard for this court\u2019s order on fees.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs punishment for the non-payment, the filing called for a harsh penalty: being held in criminal contempt of court and sent to jail for 20 days. A spokesman for Tyrese declined to comment on Tuesday (July 29).<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen the Gibsons finalized their divorce in 2023, the judge overseeing the case ordered Tyrese to pay his ex-wife\u2019s legal bills from the case, including $217,731 to The Gleklen Law Firm and another $181,421 to Bloom Lines Alexander.<\/p>\n

\n\tSince then, the pair has battled repeatedly over that debt and others. In September, the judge ordered Tyrese taken into custody after holding him in contempt for failing to pay child support (he was released just hours later.<\/a>) A month later, the Gleklen firm filed for a lien<\/a> on the star\u2019s Atlanta mansion over the huge legal bill debt.<\/p>\n

\n\tNow, Samantha and her lawyers filed a new civil lawsuit seeking a new contempt order that they hope will force him to finally pay up.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe movants respectfully request \u2026 that the court, in making its finding of willful contempt, impose severe sanctions upon Mr. Gibson as deemed appropriate by the court in light of his history of violating court orders,\u201d her lawyers write in the new filing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
