\n\tShia LaBeouf<\/strong> has reached a confidential settlement to end FKA Twigs<\/a>\u2019 lawsuit that accused the actor of subjecting her to a \u201cliving nightmare\u201d of abuse during their romantic relationship.<\/p>\n

\n\tAttorneys for Twigs (Tahliah Barnett<\/strong>) filed notice of the deal on Friday (July 18) in Los Angeles court, where the singer-songwriter was set to go to trial this September on her abuse and sexual battery claims against LaBeouf.<\/p>\n

\n\tTwigs\u2019 attorney Bryan Freedman<\/strong> and LaBeouf\u2019s lawyer Shawn Holley<\/strong> confirmed the settlement in a joint statement on behalf of their clients.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCommitted to forging a constructive path forward, we have agreed to settle our case out of court,\u201d says the statement from Freedman and Holley. \u201cWhile the details of the settlement will remain private, we wish each other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTwigs\u2019 2020 lawsuit alleged that after meeting LaBeouf on the set of the film Honey Boy <\/em>in 2018, the actor used a \u201ccharm offensive\u201d to lure her into a romantic relationship. LaBeouf then allegedly subjected Twigs to a \u201cliving nightmare,\u201d isolating the singer from her friends and family while subjecting her to frequent verbal abuse.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer said LaBeouf\u2019s abuse then turned physical. On one occasion in 2019, Twigs said, he slammed her against a car and strangled her after she tried to \u201cescape from one of his manic tirades.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTwigs alleged as well that LaBeouf kept her in a \u201cconstant state of fear\u201d by storing guns throughout their house. She also said he gave her a sexually transmitted disease without telling her \u2013 conduct that amounted to sexual battery, according to the lawsuit.<\/p>\n

\n\tLaBeouf denied the allegations in legal filings. A jury trial had been scheduled to begin on September 29. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
