\n\tPolice are investigating allegations that Trey Songz assaulted a cameraman and destroyed his equipment following a concert at a Long Island restaurant this weekend.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe altercation was captured in a video that the cameraman, identified by TMZ<\/em> as Isaa Mansoor, posted to his Instagram page on Sunday (July 13). The video, which Mansoor has since deleted, appeared to show Songz (Tremaine Neverson) punching the cameraman following a show at Ivy Kitchen & Bar in Huntington, N.Y., on Saturday night (July 12).<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the video, captioned \u201cTrey Songz assaults me for trying to do my job,\u201d a man that Mansoor identifies as the restaurant\u2019s owner tells the R&B singer, \u201cYo chill, chill, that\u2019s my guy.\u201d Songz responds, \u201cI don\u2019t give a f\u2013k who it is bro\u201d and appears to punch Mansoor again. The videographer claims that in addition to his physical injuries, Songz destroyed camera equipment worth more than $5,000.<\/p>\n

\n\tA spokesperson for the Suffolk County Police Department on Long Island tells Billboard<\/em> that it is investigating the alleged incident.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAn adult male reported a man damaged his camera equipment and punched him in the face at Ivy, located at 65 Wall St. in Huntington, on July 13 at approximately 3:50 a.m.,\u201d says the police spokesperson. \u201cNo one has been charged at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA legal representative for Songz, Ted Anastasiou, <\/strong>says in a statement on Monday (July 14), \u201cWhat happened at the Ivy was the result of increasingly aggressive paparazzi invading an artist\u2019s personal space, conduct that puts everyone at risk and a trend that\u2019s impacting not just Trey but artists everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTrey disputes the characterization of events, is cooperating fully with authorities and looks forward to the facts, not speculation, speaking for themselves,\u201d adds Anastasiou.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis is not the first time Songz has come under criminal investigation for assault. In 2017, the singer pled guilty to punching a police officer after a concert at Detroit\u2019s Joe Louis Arena in 2016. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation.<\/p>\n

\n\tSongz was arrested again in 2021 for getting into an altercation with police officers during the NFL\u2019s AFC championship game in Kansas City. Prosecutors ultimately declined to charge the singer over the incident.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition, Songz has faced multiple civil lawsuits for both physical and sexual assault. In one such lawsuit, which is scheduled to go to trial in Las Vegas, Songz is accused of attacking a man whose wife was being held against her will in a hotel room in 2021.<\/p>\n
