{"id":6602,"date":"2025-06-21T08:26:31","date_gmt":"2025-06-21T08:26:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/fat-joe-lawsuit-from-former-hypeman-alleges-sex-with-underage-girls\/"},"modified":"2025-06-21T08:26:31","modified_gmt":"2025-06-21T08:26:31","slug":"fat-joe-lawsuit-from-former-hypeman-alleges-sex-with-underage-girls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/fat-joe-lawsuit-from-former-hypeman-alleges-sex-with-underage-girls\/","title":{"rendered":"Fat Joe Lawsuit From Former Hypeman Alleges Sex With Underage Girls"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<span>T<\/span>wo months after Fat Joe sued his former hypeman Terrance \u201cT.A.\u201d Dixon for extortion over \u201cfalse and vile accusations,\u201d the one-time employee has filed his own lawsuit accusing the rapper of having sex with two underage girls.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn a complaint filed Thursday in Manhattan federal court, Dixon accuses Fat Joe (Joseph Cartagena) of a \u201cdeliberate and sustained campaign of exploitation,\u201d leveling claims of sex trafficking, financial fraud, and racketeering. Most seriously, Dixon claims that he \u201cpersonally witnessed defendant engage in sexual relations with children who were fifteen and sixteen years old.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cMinor Doe 1 is a 16-year-old Dominican girl residing in New York,\u201d Dixon writes in his lawsuit, obtained by <em>Billboard<\/em>. \u201cIn exchange for cash, clothing, and payment of her cell phone bill, defendant would get oral sex and other sexual acts performed on him by Minor Doe 1.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThose explosive allegations come two months after Fat Joe sued Dixon and his attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, over claims that they were extorting him by making \u201cwholly fabricated, grotesque, and scandalous allegations,\u201d including \u201cunspeakable acts such as pedophilia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn a statement responding to the new case, Fat Joe\u2019s lawyer Joe Tacopina called them a \u201cblatant act of retaliation\u201d and a \u201cdesperate attempt to deflect attention from the civil suit we filed first.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cLaw enforcement is aware of the extortionate demand at the heart of this scheme,\u201d Tacopina says. \u201cThe allegations against Mr. Cartagena are complete fabrications \u2014 lies intended to damage his reputation and force a settlement through public pressure. Mr. Cartagena will not be intimidated. We have taken legal action to expose this fraudulent campaign and hold everyone involved accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAsked by <em>Billboard<\/em> about Tacopina\u2019s statement regarding law enforcement, Blackburn repeatedly referred to his opposing counsel by the name Joe Taco Bell: \u201cWe offered Joe Taco Bell an opportunity for his client and me to meet at the [U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Southern District of New York] to file our respective criminal complaints and he tucked his tail between his legs and never responded. We met with law enforcement. Let\u2019s see where this goes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn his Thursday complaint, Dixon says he dedicated his \u201ctalent, labor, and loyalty\u201d to Fat Joe for 16 years, serving not just as a hype man but also a \u201clyricist, background vocalist, security team member, and creative collaborator.\u201d But he says the star manipulated and abused him in myriad ways, ranging from underpayment to threatening his life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cDefendants systematically engaged in coercive labor exploitation, financial fraud, sexual manipulation, violent intimidation, and psychological coercion against plaintiff Dixon, all intended to enrich defendant Cartagena and his associates while deliberately suppressing, silencing, and erasing plaintiff\u2019s substantial creative, artistic, and commercial contributions, which were foundational to defendant Cartagena\u2019s professional success and personal brand,\u201d Blackburn writes on Dixon\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThat\u2019s a very different story from the one that Fat Joe himself told first in April, when he sued Dixon and Blackburn for defamation over \u201ca predatory plot, built entirely on lies, to destroy Cartagena\u2019s reputation and business for profit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn that case, the star says he \u201ccompensated Dixon handsomely\u201d and the hype man \u201cnever complained or expressed any dissatisfaction.\u201d But he says the ex-staffer recently started airing false grievances about his pay and other issues, and has published \u201cshocking falsehoods\u201d to social media while making \u201coutrageous financial demands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe early lawsuit also names Dixon\u2019s lawyers as a defendant, claiming Blackburn threatened to file baseless legal action. Citing a recent ruling by a New York federal judge that sharply criticized Blackburn\u2019s litigation tactics, the suit calls his behavior \u201cshakedown tactics masquerading as lawyering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cDixon\u2019s and Blackburn\u2019s conduct is \u2026 a cold-blooded attempt to extort exorbitant sums from Cartagena by leveraging the specter of public disgrace and professional ruin,\u201d Tacopina wrote in April. \u201cHis defamatory statements accusing Cartagena of heinous crimes are devoid of any factual foundation, relying instead on the power of shock, scandal and Cartagena\u2019s high-profile status to maximize leverage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe allegations about Fat Joe in the newer case are certainly shocking and scandalous. The complaint is 157 pages \u2013 far longer than the typical pleadings in such a case \u2013 and comes with an unusual bright red \u201ctrigger warning\u201d at the top. It is also replete with photos of the alleged teenage victims, and claims that Dixon faced \u201ccredible threats\u201d to his life, including \u201cattempts to lure him into a violent ambush.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe lawsuit also includes claims under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act \u2013 the federal \u201cRICO\u201d statute often used in criminal cases against mobsters and drug cartels. Those sprawling claims allege that Fat Joe and his associates operated an illicit enterprise, and also names a number of outside groups as defendants, including Jay-Z\u2019s Roc Nation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBlackburn included similar civil RICO claims in a sexual assault case he filed last year against Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs on behalf of producer Rodney \u201cLil Rod\u201d Jones.
