\n\tDonald Trump has pardoned YoungBoy Never Broke Again, the rapper confirmed on Wednesday (May 28).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe news was first reported by CNN\u2019s Jasmine Wright on X<\/a>. \u201cPresident Trump has also issued a full pardon to rapper NBA YoungBoy, one of the most streamed rappers, who was convicted of possessing weapons as a felon,\u201d she wrote. \u201cHe was released from prison earlier this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNBA YoungBoy, born Kentrell Gaulden, confirmed the report by releasing a statement<\/a> on his Instagram Story. \u201cI want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building \u2014 as a man, as a father, and as an artist,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I\u2019ve worked hard for and I am fully prepared to step into this. Big thanks to the Pardon Czar, Ms. Alice Marie Johnson, for fighting for second chances for so many people, and my lawyer, Brittany K. \n\tYoungBoy added: \u201cI\u2019m grateful. I\u2019m focused. I\u2019m ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Baton Rouge, Louisiana, rapper was released in April after being sentenced to 23 months in December on federal gun charges. Earlier this month, he announced his first headlining tour.<\/p>\n
