But in 2025, systems set up to reward high performers may not be as bountiful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.com\/americanlawyer\/2025\/05\/19\/how-law-firms-are-planning-for-rocky-times-ahead\/?slreturn=20250521150141\" target=\"_blank\" link-data=\"{\" cms.site.owner=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">if the economy takes a hit<\/a>, and firms that came into this year expecting to go gangbusters may reduce draws and distributions for some partners, law firm consultants said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>  <!----> <!----> <!----><\/p>\n<div data-v-1c1aa57e=\"\">\n<p>Performance management discussions will likely focus more on adjusting comp downward, shifting roles or counseling lawyers out of the firm, they said.
