{"id":4494,"date":"2025-03-04T02:37:55","date_gmt":"2025-03-04T02:37:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/jay-z-hits-rape-accuser-with-lawsuit-says-she-admits-story-was-false\/"},"modified":"2025-03-04T02:37:55","modified_gmt":"2025-03-04T02:37:55","slug":"jay-z-hits-rape-accuser-with-lawsuit-says-she-admits-story-was-false","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/jay-z-hits-rape-accuser-with-lawsuit-says-she-admits-story-was-false\/","title":{"rendered":"Jay-Z Hits Rape Accuser With Lawsuit, Says She Admits Story Was False"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/billboard.com\/artist\/jay-z\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jay-Z<\/a> is filing a lawsuit against the unnamed woman who accused him of rape last year, claiming she has now directly admitted that she fabricated those explosive allegations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe new case, filed weeks after the lawsuit against Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) was abruptly dropped last month, alleges that the Jane Doe accuser and her attorney, <strong>Tony Buzbee<\/strong>, carried out an \u201cevil conspiracy\u201d to extort a settlement from the superstar by making \u201cfalse and malicious\u201d allegations against him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNotably, the new lawsuit says the Doe accuser has now \u201cvoluntarily admitted\u201d directly to Jay-Z\u2019s team that the star did not assault her and that Buzbee \u201cpushed\u201d her to make those allegations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cMr. Carter does not commence this action lightly,\u201d his lawyers write in a complaint filed Monday (March 3) in Alabama federal court. \u201cBut the extortion and abuse of Mr. Carter by Doe and her lawyers must stop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn a statement to <em>Billboard<\/em>, Buzbee sharply denied the allegations: \u201cThis case is baloney and has no legal merit. Shawn Carter\u2019s investigators have repeatedly harassed, threatened and harangued this poor woman for weeks trying to intimidate her and make her recant her story. She won\u2019t. Instead she has stated repeatedly she stands by her claims. These same group of investigators have been caught on tape offering to pay people to sue me and my firm. This is just another attempt to intimidate and bully this poor woman that we will deal with in due course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe blockbuster case against Jay-Z, filed in December, claimed that he and Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl at an after-party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. It represented a shocking expansion of the already-sprawling claims against Combs and came amid speculation that other stars might be implicated in Diddy\u2019s alleged decades of abusive behavior.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tJay-Z forcefully denied the allegations, calling them a \u201cblackmail attempt.\u201d He accused Buzbee of trying to extort settlements from innocent celebrities by falsely tying them to Diddy and vowed to fight back and never pay his accuser.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLast month, Doe abruptly dropped the case \u2014 without explanation and without any kind of payment from Jay-Z. Though he celebrated it as a \u201cvictory,\u201d the star hinted he would seek to further clear his name: \u201cWhen they quickly realize that the money grab is going to fail, they get to walk away with no repercussions. The system has failed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn filing Monday\u2019s lawsuit, attorneys for the star are essentially seeking to impose those kinds of repercussions. They accuse Doe and Buzbee of counts of malicious prosecution, abuse of process and civil conspiracy, claiming they teamed up to abuse the court system to \u201cassassinate the impeccable and lifetime-earned character of Shawn Corey Carter\u201d in an effort to score a payday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cDefendants devised and executed their plan to accuse Mr. Carter of sexual assault and used national news and media outlets to disseminate the fabricated accusations to millions despite the falsity of the accusation,\u201d his lawyers write. \u201cDefendants\u2019 actions were willful and purposeful in order to maximize the reputational harm to Mr. Carter and induce Mr. Carter to pay them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe new lawsuit is most notable in that it claims the accuser herself has admitted the allegations against Jay-Z are false. A <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/jay-z-rape-accuser-comes-forward-nbc-news-acknowledges-inconsistencies-rcna183435\" target=\"_blank\">headline-grabbing interview<\/a> with <em>NBC News <\/em>exposed serious inconsistencies in her story, and Jay-Z\u2019s team repeatedly argued the lawsuit was frivolous. But in Monday\u2019s complaint, his attorneys now say Doe herself has confirmed to them that the bombshell charge was not true.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cDoe has now voluntarily admitted directly to representatives of Mr. Carter that the story brought before the world in court and on global television was just that: a false, malicious story,\u201d the lawsuit says. \u201cShe has admitted that Mr. Carter did not assault her; and that indeed it was Buzbee himself \u2026 who pushed her to go forward with the false narrative of the assault by Mr. Carter in order to leverage a maximum payday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIt\u2019s unclear from the complaint when exactly Doe made such admissions to Jay-Z\u2019s representatives or in what context. Reps for his attorneys did not immediately return a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn addition to focusing on the old lawsuit, Jay-Z\u2019s lawyers also say the star is now facing new \u201cextortionate threats\u201d from Buzbee. They claim Doe\u2019s attorneys warned them last week that if they reveal Doe\u2019s statements admitting her story was false, they\u2019ll issue a press release claiming she\u2019s been \u201charassed\u201d by Jay-Z\u2019s team and that she \u201cdropped the lawsuit only because she was afraid for her life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u00a0\u201cThus, the threats of extortion and further defamation continue to this day, necessitating that Mr. Carter take action to prevent unscrupulous actors from further preying on him,\u201d his attorneys write.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe new case isn\u2019t the first time Jay-Z has gone on the legal counteroffensive. Weeks before the headline-grabbing rape case was filed against him in December, attorneys for the star secretly filed a preemptive lawsuit under a John Doe pseudonym accusing Buzbee of extortion and defamation. Jay-Z\u2019s role as the mystery plaintiff in that case was later revealed after Doe filed her rape lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAt a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/jay-z-defamation-claim-tony-buzbee-sean-combs-1235279990\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">hearing in that case<\/a> last week, a Los Angeles judge said he would likely dismiss the star\u2019s extortion claims against Buzbee but that he would likely allow the defamation claims against the lawyer to proceed toward trial.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jay-Z is filing a lawsuit against the unnamed woman who accused him of rape last year, claiming she has now directly admitted that she fabricated those explosive allegations.
