Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison has\u00a0hired yet another Kirkland & Ellis partner as it continues to build out its London office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Prem Mohan, a regulatory partner in the funds practice, is set to leave Kirkland after over a decade at the Chicago-founded behemoth, to join Paul Weiss’ burgeoning London ranks, according to people with knowledge of the matter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Mohan’s practice includes advising private investment fund sponsors on the regulatory issues relating to the structuring and formation of private investment funds across a variety of asset classes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Prior to joining Kirkland in 2014, he was an associate at Covington & Burling, as well as elite U.K. firm Linklaters, according to his LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The move is the latest in a\u00a0string\u00a0<\/a>of Kirkland partners to join the elite New York-led firm’s London office as the latter embarked on a concerted expansion drive into the London market last year. That drive started with the hire of Kirkland partners Neel Sachdev and Roger Johnson as well as several other colleagues. The tally of Kirkland partners to move to Paul Weiss since then is now close to 20.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A spokesperson for Kirkland said: “We thank Prem for his contribution to the firm and wish him well”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This is the fourth partner that Paul, Weiss has poached from Kirkland & Ellis’ funds group this year. It first launched a European funds practice back in February with the addition of Kirkland partner James King.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Since then, his former colleagues Jeremy Leggate, David Pritchett and now Mohan, have all followed suit. Meanwhile, back in July Kirkland\u00a0added\u00a0<\/a>a special counsel from Milbank in a bid to rebuild its funds offering.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Funds work has been a growing area of interest among law firms in London. In June, U.S. outfit King & Spalding\u00a0hired\u00a0<\/a>a five-strong team, including funds finance partner Samantha Hutchinson.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
