{"id":2714,"date":"2024-09-20T23:30:30","date_gmt":"2024-09-20T23:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/federal-judge-wont-stop-title-ix-investigation-into-former-gmu-law-professor\/"},"modified":"2024-09-20T23:30:30","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T23:30:30","slug":"federal-judge-wont-stop-title-ix-investigation-into-former-gmu-law-professor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/federal-judge-wont-stop-title-ix-investigation-into-former-gmu-law-professor\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal Judge Won&#8217;t Stop Title IX Investigation Into Former GMU Law Professor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A federal judge in Virginia found Thursday that former George Mason University\u2019s Antonin Scalia Law School professor Joshua Wright cannot stop a Title IX investigation into claims that he used his academic influence to seduce female law students\u2014dismissing all but one of his claims against the university.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/images.law.com\/contrib\/content\/uploads\/documents\/292\/191367\/Wright-v.-GMU.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a decision released Thursday<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Judge Patricia Tolliver Giles denied Wright\u2019s motion for a preliminary injunction against George Mason and the school\u2019s Title IX coordinator, Thomas Bluestein. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">George Mason filed a motion to dismiss the multiple-count complaint in\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wright v.
