Alessio, 55, died on\u00a0Tuesday following a five-year battle against cancer, the firm announced Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Alessio was a native San Diegan and practiced from the firm\u2019s downtown San Diego office for 16 years. He had previously run his own firm, Thompson &amp; Alessio, for more than six years before joining Procopio Cory as a partner in 2008. Alessio was elected firmwide managing partner first in 2017 and was twice reelected.
