{"id":1867,"date":"2024-07-19T18:55:14","date_gmt":"2024-07-19T18:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/priscilla-presley-elder-abuse-lawsuit-claims-ex-advisors-stole-money\/"},"modified":"2024-07-19T18:55:14","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T18:55:14","slug":"priscilla-presley-elder-abuse-lawsuit-claims-ex-advisors-stole-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/priscilla-presley-elder-abuse-lawsuit-claims-ex-advisors-stole-money\/","title":{"rendered":"Priscilla Presley Elder Abuse Lawsuit Claims Ex-Advisors Stole Money"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAttorneys for Priscilla Presley are suing four of her former business partners over allegations of elder abuse and fraud, accusing them of a \u201cmeticulously planned\u201d scheme to drain Elvis Presley\u2019s ex-wife of \u201cevery last penny she had.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn a complaint filed Thursday (July 18) in Los Angeles court, lawyers for Presley, 79, accuse <strong>Brigitte Kruse<\/strong>, <strong>Kevin Fialko<\/strong>, <strong>Vahe Sislyan<\/strong> and <strong>Lynn Walker Wright<\/strong> of fraudulently convincing her to give them power over nearly every aspect of her life \u2014 and then abusing that control to steal her money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThis action arises out of a meticulously planned and abhorrent scheme by the defendants in this action to prey on an older woman by gaining her trust, isolating her from the most important people in her life, and duping her into believing that they would take care of her (personally and financially), while their real goal was to drain her of every last penny she had,\u201d writes high-profile attorney <strong>Martin Singer<\/strong>, who now represents Presley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tCalling Kruse a \u201ccon-artist and pathological liar,\u201d Singer says the defendants took more than $1 million from Presley and convinced her to sign a deal that would give them 80% of her future income.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe fact that the plaintiff in this case is internationally recognized actress, author, and cultural icon \u2026 demonstrates both how effective the defendants\u2019 plan was (and needed to be), and how anyone can be a victim of elder abuse and fraud,\u201d Singer writes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe new case comes eight months after Kruse\u2019s company, Priscilla Presley Partners, filed its own lawsuit against Priscilla in Florida. That case claimed that Presley illegally turned her back on Kruse and Fialko after they had helped her \u201cdig herself out of impending financial ruin,\u201d including negotiating the deal that led to last year\u2019s <em>Priscilla<\/em> biopic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBut in Thursday\u2019s new lawsuit, Singer argues that the earlier case was merely a cover for Kruse and Fialko\u2019s alleged misdeeds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWhen it became clear to the defendants that their scheme had been uncovered, they attempted to falsely portray themselves as the victims by filing a lawsuit against Presley in Florida in the name of several of the sham companies they established, alleging that Presley breached the fraudulently-induced operating agreements,\u201d her legal team writes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAccording to the complaint, Sislyan is Kruse\u2019s husband and participated in the scheme; and Walker-Wright is an Orlando-area attorney who allegedly helped the others carry it out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSinger and Priscilla\u2019s other attorneys say that Kruse and the others \u201cestablished a personal relationship\u201d with her and then used it to \u201cisolate her from her long-time business and financial advisors,\u201d whom they argued were \u201cdeceitful or incompetent\u201d and causing her to lose money. Once they had isolated her, the lawsuit says, Kruse and the others took steps to \u201cfraudulently induce\u201d Presley into signing over power of attorney, giving them control over her trusts and bank accounts, and signing deals with \u201csham\u201d companies like Priscilla Presley Partners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOne of those deals, the lawsuit says, gave the defendants \u201can exclusive license to exploit and profit off of her name, image, and likeness, and to control and receive virtually all of her income from any of her professional ventures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cDissatisfied with what existing resources they could siphon from her, the defendants\u2019 plan involved usurping control over her ability to control her finances going forward and forcing her into a form of indentured servitude, where plaintiff was forced to work so that they could receive the lion\u2019s share of any revenue that she was able to earn in the future,\u201d Singer writes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAn attorney for Kruse and Priscilla Presley Partners did not immediately return a request for comment on the allegations.
