Doughty of the Western District of Louisiana authored the opinion in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/images.law.com\/contrib\/content\/uploads\/documents\/292\/185234\/Louisiana_v._EEOC__Title_IX__Order.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">State of Louisiana v. U.S. Department of Education<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which was filed against the Department of Education, along with its secretary,\u00a0Miguel Cardona, among other federal agencies and officials. Republican-led states like Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana and Idaho sought to prevent some of the new regulations from going into effect Aug. 1.
