\n\tTakeoff\u2019s parents are locked in a bitter court dispute over the division of settlement money stemming from his shocking murder.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Migos rapper (born Kirshnik Khari Ball) was shot and killed outside a private party at a Houston bowling alley in 2022 at age 28. Titania Davenport, Takeoff\u2019s mother and the executor of his estate, later filed a negligence lawsuit in Texas alleging the bowling alley\u2019s operators failed to provide proper security in the \u201chigh-crime area.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe wrongful death case settled at the end of 2025 for a confidential sum. But the battle is not over; according to recent court papers, Takeoff\u2019s father, Kenneth Ball, is now claiming that he\u2019s entitled to half of Davenport\u2019s settlement money.<\/p>\n

\n\tDavenport\u2019s lawyers say Ball does not deserve half because he was \u201clargely absent from his son\u2019s life and never financially supported his son.\u201d They say Davenport, on the other hand, had \u201ca close, loving, and nurturing relationship with her son for his entire lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMs. Davenport cared for and raised her son from birth as a single parent,\u201d wrote her lawyers in a June 5 court filing in Texas. \u201cMs. Davenport provided nearly sole financial support to her son until he became an adult. Even after her son became an adult, Ms. Davenport continued to provide assistance to Takeoff as he pursued his music career.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBall has not responded to these assertions directly. His own court filings argue that a jury in Texas should decide how to divide the settlement money, and that Davenport\u2019s team is wrongly trying to \u201cusurp\u201d the court\u2019s jurisdiction and move the apportionment process to probate court in Atlanta.<\/p>\n

\n\tLawyers for Davenport and Ball did not immediately return requests for comment on Wednesday (June 24).<\/p>\n

\n\tTakeoff was killed in November 2022 after gunfire broke out in the vicinity of 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, where the rapper had attended a party with his uncle and fellow Migos member Quavo. He was fatally struck in the head and torso, while two other individuals were shot but survived. Quavo was uninjured.<\/p>\n

\n\tAuthorities identified the alleged shooter as Patrick Xavier Clark and charged him with murder. Clark denies the charges, and he\u2019s scheduled for a criminal trial in Houston in November.<\/p>\n
