Attorneys for both sides did not return requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cReady \u201924,\u201d recorded in 2022 and appearing on Cole\u2019s 2024 mixtape <em>Might Delete Later<\/em>, featured a verse written and performed by Cam\u2019ron. The mixtape debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and ultimately spent eight weeks on the chart.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn his October lawsuit, Cam\u2019ron claimed he only agreed to appear on the song based on specific terms, including final approval of the song before release; credit as both a co-writer and a performer; and Cole either contributing a verse on a future song or appearing on Cam\u2019ron\u2019s <em>It Is What It Is<\/em> podcast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cTwo years later, with Cole having refused to honor his agreement to collaborate with plaintiff on either a single or on the podcast, defendants nevertheless released the sound recording,\u201d his lawyers wrote at the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMonths later, Cole\u2019s attorneys denied the accusations, saying they had \u201cdiscussed the possibility of Cole appearing on plaintiff\u2019s podcast\u201d but that no agreement was reached. They said he appeared on the track \u201cvoluntarily and without condition\u201d and had been happy to be featured on the song.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cPlaintiff encouraged and blessed defendants\u2019 use of his performance, as it was to his career benefit,\u201d Cole\u2019s attorneys wrote. \u201cIt was only after the release of \u2018Ready \u201824\u2019 that he began to demand unreasonable conditions never agreed to by Cole, or an excessive fee inconsistent with industry standards for a featured performance, followed by the filing of this lawsuit without notice to publicly disparage Cole as leverage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubpass.co\/billboard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/2HpFicp.png\" alt=\"Billboard VIP Pass\" style=\"max-width: 100%;height: auto\" title=\"\"><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>J.
