{"id":10508,"date":"2026-04-29T02:40:47","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T02:40:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/sc-blog-post-biden-announces-covid-19-vaccine-mandate\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T02:40:47","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T02:40:47","slug":"sc-blog-post-biden-announces-covid-19-vaccine-mandate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usatrustedlawyers.com\/blog\/sc-blog-post-biden-announces-covid-19-vaccine-mandate\/","title":{"rendered":"S&#038;C Blog post &#8211; Biden Announces COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div id=\"contentSummaryCollapse\" style=\"--intro-p-height: 10.3125rem;\">\n<div class=\"inner-collapse\">\n<p>On September 9, 2021, President Biden announced a sweeping <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/covidplan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">mandate<\/a> (the \u201cMandate\u201d), to \u201censure that we are using every available tool to combat COVID-19\u00a0\u2026, while also\u00a0\u2026 protecting our economy from lockdowns and damage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among other things, the Mandate directs the Department of Labor\u2019s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (\u201cOSHA\u201d) to develop a rule that will require all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require any workers who remain unvaccinated to produce a negative test result on at least a weekly basis before coming to work. OSHA will issue an Emergency Temporary Standard (\u201cETS\u201d) to implement this requirement.<\/p>\n<p>The Mandate also directs OSHA to develop a rule that will require employers with more than 100 employees to provide paid time off for the time it takes for workers to get vaccinated or to recover if they are under the weather post-vaccination. This requirement will also be implemented through an ETS.<\/p>\n<p>Employers that do not comply with the vaccine mandate or paid-time-off requirement can face fines of up to $14,000 per violation.
