The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announced on Thursday that it has filed a joint stipulation with Coinbase Inc. and Coinbase Global Inc. to dismiss the ongoing civil enforcement action against the two entities.
In doing so, the SEC cited the formation of the Crypto Task Force, which is dedicated to developing a comprehensive and clear regulatory framework for crypto assets. The task force signals a new era for the SEC, which was led by Chairman Gary Gensler during the Biden administration but has acquired new leadership and policy direction since President Donald Trump took office.
