In a show of increasingly vocal support from the national legal community, a group of 67 current and former general counsel has signed onto an amicus brief in support of Perkins Coie as it seeks a permanent injunction against an executive order, issued by President Donal Trump earlier in March, targeting the firm and threatening to sever contracts with its clients.
Represented by attorneys from Arizona-based firm Osborn Maledon, former general counsel from companies such as Eli Lilly, the Gap, Cisco, Lyft, Verizon, Marriott International and Apple are among the signatories of the brief. The current chief legal officer of biotechnology company Prothena and the current general counsel of software company Trust Machines are also signers.
