A Miami federal judge approved the first tranche of settlements Monday involving prominent sports athletes who promoted the since-collapsed cryptocurrency platform Voyager, teeing up a global mediation with the remaining defendants, who include an Am Law 100 firm.
Adam Moskowitz of the Moskowitz Law Firm in Miami, Florida, and David Boies of Boies Schiller Flexner in Armonk, New York, obtained the settlements from the defendants—ex-NFL star Rob Gronkowski, NBA player Victor Oladipo, and NASCAR driver Landon Cassill—and were appointed co-lead class counsel by U.S. District Judge Roy Altman of the Southern District of Florida.
