Esports company Skillz Platform has filed a lawsuit against mobile gaming company Voodoo SAS, which operates the “Blitz Win Cash” app, for allegedly fixing games and defrauding players with bots.
The complaint, filed Monday by King & Spalding in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleges that Voodoo and co-defendants Esport Newco SAS and Esport Newco US Corp. violated New York General Business Law and the Lanham Act by falsely marketing their games as “fair” and “skills-based” to players, despite using an algorithm to rig tournament outcomes. Skillz is seeking damages, lost revenue and permanent injunctive relief.
