Jenner & Block won a temporary restraining order (TRO) late Friday barring parts of an executive order issued against the law firm this week.
U.S. District Judge John D. Bates of the District of Columbia enjoined the government from implementing sections three and five of the order after stating that the Trump administration had violated the firm’s First, Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights. He also enjoined the firm from using section one of the order, which laid out the president’s rationale for targeting Jenner, to inform any interactions between the government and Jenner (as well as firm clients).
