Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian served as co-counsel to longtime client Boston Basketball Partners, led by the Grousbeck family, in the definitive agreement to sell the Boston Celtics to an investor group led by William Chisholm. The deal, approved by the NBA board of governors on Aug. 13, values the team at $6.1 billion, the then-highest reported sale price for an American professional sports franchise. The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Boston founding partner Jay K. Hachigian and included partners Richard Hesp and Tyler Kirtley and associates Graham Rogers and Taylor DiChello.
