The Federal Trade Commission is asking a federal court to force MGM Resorts International to comply with its investigative demands regarding a crippling cyberattack in September that exposed the personal information of 1.5 million MGM guests and brought down the hotel and casino operator’s systems for more than a week.
“To date, MGM has failed to provide any documents or responses to interrogatories. Respondents’ failure to comply with the CID [civil investigative demand] has materially impeded the Commission’s ongoing investigation,” the FTC says in a petition filed Monday in the District of Nevada.
