Florida Bar President-Elect Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes Charters New Territory

In this week’s Legal Speak episode, Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley Shareholder Rosalyn “Sia” Baker-Barnes opens up about her journey toward becoming the first Black woman to serve as President of the Florida Bar Association.

Set to succeed President Roland Sanchez-Medina, Jr. in June, the President-Elect sat down with Daily Business Review Senior Litigation Reporter Lisa Willis to discuss how her personal and legal experiences have helped prepare her for the leadership role. In addition to shining a light on the importance of encouraging women of color to choose legal careers, Baker-Barnes shares how the career of her father, Palm Beach County Circuit Court Judge Moses Baker, Jr., influenced her own aspirations.
