Elon Musk Among Defendants Named in New Privacy Suits Targeting DOGE

Two new privacy class actions targeting the newly minted Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the Elon Musk-led executive branch task force tasked with slashing federal spending, were filed in Washington, D.C. federal court this week.

The plaintiffs contend that Musk, the Tesla CEO and billionaire at DOGE’s helm, and other DOGE representatives illegally obtained access to the personal sensitive information—including names, addresses, Social Security numbers and health insurance details—of “millions” of federal workers and government beneficiaries from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
