The U.S. Supreme Court said Monday that the Trump administration could move forward, at least for now, with rescinding Biden-era deportation protections for more than 300,000 Venezuelan immigrants.
The court granted the government’s request for relief from a California federal judge’s order blocking the withdrawal of temporary protected status, or TPS, for Venezuelan nationals living in the United States. TPS is a legal protection Congress created to give temporary protection against deportation to otherwise removable immigrants in the United States from war-torn or disaster-stricken countries.
